The lights glow and the bulbs and ornaments are reflected off their spectacular color.

When you have the lights on your tree the ornaments give the completeness to fill the personality of your family. The wonderful ornaments made by your children kept as special mementos of child hood days. Special ornaments made by your grandchildren will add more completeness to your family tree. It is an easy thing to change the scheme of the tree by buying ornaments that suit your fancy.

When you are in college you find ornaments that reflect your school spirit. Getting older you might find a color and match all your ornaments to it. With the changing colors of the trees you might want to find ornaments that complement the tree.

Libraries are a good source as are the search engines to find ornaments to make for your tree. If you want to keep it simple you can make an ornament with tissue paper with candies inside that make a sweet nibble or treat for your visitors. The white ornament is simple and beautiful on a dark tree of green. This also shows up better during the day when the lights are not on.

There is always the standby of cranberries and popcorn to add to trees for the birds and squirrels outside if you move it after the holidays, to a place they can enjoy. With the option of using many trees that leaves the gambit wide open to decorate many ways. Adding a yearly ornament keeps your ornament box growing and keeps the memories of gone by days in your present for the holidays.

About the author:

© Greg Greer

http://www.homedecorationsusa.com
http://www.homedecorationsusa.com/Christmas_Decorations1.php

Take your time and browse there are tons of pretty ornaments to choose from. You can add another ornament with each passing year. This brings treasured memories with each year of trimming your tree. When your favorite aunt needle points your kids name into a ornament this is a special tribute. When your children start school they will build your collection with their craft ornaments.

For us that are baby boomers we usually decorate our tree with the glass bulbs because we know they will not be broken. With the advent of many different hued trees we can change our bulbs to match or contrast with the color. We can still use the old ornaments for character and add more for a different look.

Bringing a bulb wrapped for a present is a nice touch when you are invited to parties during the holiday season.

The high school sold bulbs that represented their school colors and mascots for a fund raiser last year. This is another way to add to your special assortment to decorate the following year.

There are so many themes that you have a hard time deciding.

You can always add more trees in other rooms to continue using other themes, to the delight of your guests. Even seeing the retro trees brings back memories. I still remember the foil colored tree with the spinning light to change the colors as it spun. Now there are trees with the fiber optic lights to accomplish the same effect. Artificial trees of today look like the trees in the forest. Just adding the ornaments that make us happy will enchant our season and our guests that visit.

About the author:

© Greg Greer http://www.homedecorationsusa.com http://www.homedecorationsusa.com/Christmas_Decorations1.php

We have ornaments for every imaginable delight for your tree or to give as a gift for another persons special tree. You have to sign your kids up for it, but what it is, is you put the age, and sex of the child on a paper "ornament" along with their Christmas wish list (or if they're too young, put what they really NEED along with a couple things you'd think they'd want) and give it to them.

They will place that paper ornament on a BIIIIG Christmas tree, usually in businesses or the mall, and WONDERFUL, GENEROUS strangers will pick up that ornament and buy gifts for that child. Then they will turn those gifts in, (along with the receipts) to the Salvation Army and they deliver them to the families for Christmas. This way...you get to experience that there ARE still good people in the world, and your kids don't have to know they didn't REALLY come from "Santa".

My mom was disabled and couldn't work and my dad left us around this time of year. My mom had no money and was extremely depressed about Christmas or how we were even going to make it. She finally swallowed her pride and contacted these organizations. They are WONDERFUL. I was old enough to know the truth of the situation (I was 16) but I'll never forget the people who helped our family have a wonderful Christmas, and to this day, I still "pay it forward" every year, by buying gifts for my OWN angel off the tree.

Also, you can contact churches and they usually take a list from people who suggest families for Christmas food baskets as well. (We did this one too) And the church charities will bring you food . It may not be the "traditional" Christmas dinner, but it's still really good.

This answer is written by:

Just a humble young person who's been through a lot in his life.

Christmas Help For Low Income Families

Author: Shawn Stoik

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, right? Well, for many people Christmas can unfortunately be one of the most stressful times of the year financially. There is probably nothing worse than when the holiday season rolls around and you realize that you won't have enough money to pay all of your bills let alone put presents under the tree. But when it comes to Christmas help for low income families, there are some great options for supplementing your income and making sure this year Christmas will be wonderful.

One of the options you may have considered is getting a part time job at least temporarily during the Christmas season. You could try selling Christmas trees, installing Christmas lights, or shoveling snow. But these options are not likely to bring in a significant enough income to really help you out. And aren't the holidays supposed to be all about spending time with your family and loved ones? If you get a part time job to add to your already busy schedule, you can forget about spending time with your family and enjoying Christmas the way you should.

So what else could you do that really makes sense? What if you really want to be proactive and do something that won't just be a temporary fix? Well, one of the most profitable ways to supplement and increase your income in time for Christmas might be with the Internet. It's Christmas time, time to do up the house and it is here where decorations play a very important part.
Christmas lights are also added in the shopping list of Christmas.

Doing up the house with lights on Christmas has been a tradition in many countries since a long long time. It is not a new concept but has been happening for a long time. It was the Christmas tree which was first decorated with lights and slowly these Christmas lights gained popularity. After the Christmas trees it was the turn of the houses. People started decorating their roofs, porches, doorways, windows and gates.

Houses are decorated with beautiful brightly colored lights and it is late in the evening when these lights are switched on that we can enjoy their brightness. In the night even from a long distance one can see the beauty of these lights reflecting all around.

There is a lot of variety that can be found in the Christmas lights section when you go shopping. You can choose between the LED's and Incandescent lamps. They both have their pros and cons. If you are the creative kind or have a creative bent of mind then you can make your own lamps and lights at home. You can make lights in different shapes and sizes and colors. These lights then can be animated and you can add different functions to make them even more interesting.

The Christmas lights can have adjustments and functions using technologies like the lights can have twinkling look or it can portray the lights as fading in and out or as alternate flashing and much much more. These Christmas lights which adorn your home can be synchronized to make them look more interesting.

The Christmas lights do make the house look all pretty and done up, but there are some things to be kept in mind before buying Christmas lights and before installing them. Their authenticity and capacity needs to be checked. It's important to know whether they run on batteries or power before you buy them and kids should never be allowed to handle them. A little bit of precautions can make the Christmas celebrations carefree and fun filled.

About the author:
christmas carnivals and Christmas Lights

for more information about christmas carnivals and Christmas Lights log on to Christ
mas Lights

Send Free Chirstmas ecards

Author: Vikash Agarwal

Traditionally observed on December 25, Chirstmas or Day is an annual holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus. Although some churches observe it on different dates, the fact is that the precise chronology of Jesus' birth and death is yet to be determined. Christmas has many sides to it, some religious and some secular, including the exchange of gifts, the Santa Claus myth, decoration and display of the Christmas tree, and religious ceremonies.

History

We can trace the origin of Christmas to several pagan holidays.
It was since AD 354 that the Christians in the West started celebrating the birthday of Jesus Christ on December 25, replacing an earlier date of January 6. By that time, the Christians had appropriated several pagan festivals and traditions of the season that were practiced in many parts of the Middle East and Europe, as a means of stamping them out.
Among those festivals were Saturnalia of the Romans, the birth celebrations of sun-god Attis in Phrygia (December 25) and Persian sun-god Mithras (December 17-24).

The Nativity

The Nativity refers to the birth of Jesus Christ. The Christians celebrate Christmas by remembering or re-creating the Nativity.
While the Eastern Orthodox Church practices the Nativity Fast in anticipation of the birth of Jesus, the Western Church mostly prefers celebrating Advent. Children often enact the events of the Nativity, or sing some of the numerous Christmas carols that reference the event. Some Christians display a small re-creation of the Nativity in their homes, using small figurines to portray the key characters.

Santa Claus

In Western culture, a main feature of Christmas is the exchange of gifts among friends and family members, some of them being attributed to Santa Claus. Santa Claus is also known by other names, such as Father Christmas, Saint Nicholas, Kris Kringle, Saint Basil and Father Frost. Santa Claus is based on the tale about Saint Nicholas, or Sinterklaas, who gave gifts on the eve of his feast day of December 6. He became associated with Christmas in 19th century America and was renamed Santa Claus or Saint Nick. In Britain and France too, Father Christmas and Pere Noel respectively were made to adopt the Santa image.

Christmas tree

The Christmas tree owes its origin to the ancient pagan idea, later appropriated by the Christians, that the evergreen tree represents a celebration of the renewal of life. Christmas tree first became popular in Germany in the late 18th century.
Christmas tree may be decorated with lights and ornaments. The poinsettia then became associated with Christmas, while other popular holiday plants include holly, mistletoe, red amaryllis, and Christmas cactus. In some parts of the world, it is traditional to decorate the outside of houses with lights and sometimes with illuminated sleighs, snowmen, and other Christmas figures. Town authorities also hang Christmas banners from street lights and place Christmas tree in the town square.

Feasts and cards

A special meal of Christmas dishes is usually served on Christmas Day or Christmas Eve. Another extremely popular tradition is to send Christmas cards to friends and family members. Cards can also be produced with messages such as "Season's Greetings" or "Happy Holidays", to include senders and recipients who may not celebrate Christmas. The Christmas tree is the most recognized symbol of the Christmas holiday, and putting it up and decorating it each year is a time honored family tradition.
Unfortunately, with Christmas trees also come dangerous accidents and injuries. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), approximately 10,000 people visit emergency rooms each year due to accidents related to holiday decorating.
The following is a safety checklist of 20 important items to consider when selecting and decorating your family Christmas tree.

1. If you prefer a live tree, it's important not to buy your tree too early. Live trees should only be displayed for 3 weeks.
If you want to leave your tree up until New Year's, you should not purchase and set up the tree until December 12th to 14th.

2. When purchasing a live tree, tap the trunk on the ground. If the tree loses a lot of needles, chances are it's dried out.
Always purchase a freshly cut tree, if possible. Dried out live trees are fire hazards.

3. Once you've chosen your live tree, be sure to make a fresh cut at the base of the trunk before putting it in your stand. If you do not have the right equipment to do so, have the supplier make the cut before you leave with the tree.

4. Be sure your tree stand holds adequate water and keep the reservoir full at all times.

5. Also be sure that you don't buy too large of a live tree for your tree stand. If your tree stand is too small or doesn't hold the tree securely, buy a new one.

6. To help prevent you from forgetting to water the tree, buy an automatic tree waterer. Tree waterers are widely available online and are quite inexpensive.

7. When positioning your live tree, be sure not to set it up next to a radiator or furnace vent, as this could dry the tree out faster.

8. If you're purchasing an artificial tree, be sure to buy one that is coated with fire retardant.

9. If the base that came with your artificial tree is getting wobbly or is broken, purchase a replacement artificial tree stand.

10. Pre-lit artificial trees are plus because many have in-line fuses. If one of the fuses burns out you can simply replace it with exactly the same size. Most pre-lit trees come with extra fuses. Store these in a readily available location, so you can find them each season. The best place would be in your tree storage bag.

11. Position your tree in a corner or less traveled area, so people walking by won't knock ornaments off the tree or trip over extension cords.

12. When setting your tree up, position it near an outlet, so you won't need extension cords.

13. If you do need extension cords, be sure to run them along a wall, so they won't be a tripping hazard.

14. Never run extension cords under an area rug.

15. Be sure you don't plug too many strings of lights into one outlet, and also be sure you don't connect too many strings together. Typically, you should not run more than three strings of lights together.

16. Check your lights for broken or burned out bulbs, frayed cords, burned plugs, and other signs of wear or damage. Light strings or extension cords that are worn or damaged should be thrown away or recycled.

17. Never place lighted candles or open flames on or near your tree. Trees should also never be placed near a fireplace, as sparks can ignite the branches or decorations.

18. Always be sure to unplug tree lights before you go to bed.

19. Instead of ornament hooks, consider tying ornaments to your tree with ribbon. Ornament hooks cause many injuries each year to children and pets.

20. When you take down a live tree, be sure to dispose of it quickly and properly. Try to take the tree down immediately prior to your city's pickup date for trees.

With a little planning and some good common sense, you can enjoy your Christmas tree and still keep yourself and your family safe. Remember, good tree safety means a happy holiday for everyone involved!

About the author:
For more holiday safety tips, visit the Christmas Tree Storage Shop. On December 24, 1913 in the East Plaza of the U.S.
Capitol, the Washington Community Christmas Tree was lit for the first time. A crowd of 20,000 looked on while the President's Marine Band performed and was accompanied by a chorus of one thousand singers. Woodrow Wilson and the Vice President, Thomas Marshal, organized this event, which was later named "a Civic Christmas."

A decade later, in 1923, President Calvin Coolidge lit the Community Christmas Tree on the Ellipse, just south of the White House. The tree was donated by Middlebury College in the President's home state of Vermont. Though Calvin Coolidge declined to speak at the event, he did turn the switch to light the tree. The Greater Washington Board of Trade was one of several civic organizations to lead the event, and organizers declared the tree to be the "National Christmas Tree."

In 1973 a living 42 foot Colorado blue spruce was moved from Pennsylvania and transplanted to serve as a permanent National Christmas tree. This tree was donated by the National Arborist Association. Unfortunately, the tree was short lived and 1976 was the last year this tree was decorated and then lighted.

A new 30 foot Colorado blue spruce was transplanted in 1976 to again serve as a permanent tree. This tree was donated anonymously by a family from Maryland. In another strike of bad luck, this tree was destroyed by a gusty windstorm in 1978. It was only used for one year.

The next tree was donated by the Myers family and was transplanted from their farm in York, Pennsylvania in 1978. The tree was 15 years old at the time it was moved, and it was originally a Mother's Day gift to Mrs. Myers. This tree still stands today and is cared for by the National Park Service horticulturalist.

In 1979 and 1980, the new tree remained un-lit except for one small ornament at the top of the tree. President Carter made this decision in honor of the Americans being held hostage in Iran. In 1980, the National Broadcasters Association did sponsor a short lighting ceremony for 417 seconds, commemorating each day the hostages had been held in captivity. The American hostages were finally released on January 20, 1981, only minutes after Ronald Reagan's inauguration. The National Christmas Tree was quickly decorated and lighted as the plane carrying the former hostages cleared Iran's airspace.

Ever since then, the National Christmas tree has been decorated and lighted each year. It is tradition for the President to flip the switch to light the tree during an official ceremony that is nationally televised. The National Tree Lighting Ceremony kicks off a month of events and festivities called the Pageant of Peace. It is also tradition for the Vice President's wife to place the star at the top of the tree with the help of the Chairman of the pageant.

Some other changes have been made in recent years. With the trend toward environmental awareness and increased energy consciousness, in 1995 the lights for the National Christmas Tree were powered by solar energy for the first time. Since 2007, the lights have been switched over to energy-saving LED lights. The tree's top star has since been refurbished with LED lights, as well.

About the author:
Looking for Christmas trees for your own home? Probably you wish to spend as little time as possible on such activities but wiling to have the wonderful decorations and festive atmosphere prevailing in your home. Discover easy ways to make Christmas really beautiful and special.

First step is strictly about home decor. There is one major
rule: interior decoration, Christmas decorations and ornaments should be kept in the Christmas colors (i.e. red, green, silver, gold, etc.). We can of course get rid of them after Christmas is over but while those few days our home might change into something like Santa Claus home.

We also can't forget about Christmas tree - without it, there are no holidays. We should choose it smart remembering about the place that we are able to reserve for it, the money that we are willing to spend and some other details. Except Christmas tree we can also use some other green elements like for example wreaths, garlands (whether artificial or cut) that could be placed all over the house - mirrors, doors, balustrades.

Second step is to make a mood using carols, Christmas sounds and movies about Christmas. Listen to as many Christmas songs, carols and other songs that brings you in mind Christmas. While being at home try to encourage your family to keep the Christmas music on all over the time - it will help to keep both you and all the household in the festive mood. You can also wake up your children everyday by using Christmas bells and "Ho! Ho! Ho!"
words. Also don't miss any TV shows and movies that are on and refers to Christmas.

Third step might be called 'WOW, Christmas cookies!'. Christmas time is so pleasure time of the year that we want to make everything perfect and such as our stomach should feel. For most of us Christmas, and also Christmas mood, is inseparable connected with good food and a lot of sweets, cookies. To make food a part of this mood you can decorate Christmas tree with colourful candies (let everyone who want to eat them), bake some small cookies for the guests entering your home or live a plate with delicious fruits for them in the corridor.

Fourth and last step is something like 'All about rituals and family'. We have a lot of opportunities to make activities connected with Christmas our family rituals. For example we can make a family tradition from turning on the Christmas tree or also writing and sending postcards with family to friends and other relates. Don't forget about those friends who are not going out and bring them a small Christmas tree, a present or just invite them home.

With those four elements we can make a Merry Christmas not just a wish but a reality. Merry Christmas for us, our family and friends thanks to Christmas mood that can be easily made.

About the author:
Author also likes to write about garden buildings like ca
rports and gazebos

White Christmas Decorating Ideas - Get Fun and Funky This Christmas

Author: Charlotte Sneddon

Are you looking for something a little bit different this Christmas? If you are getting fed up of dragging out the same tired, traditional Christmas decorations, year after year, why not go for something fun, funky and modern this year.

This Christmas, move away from traditional Christmas colors of red, gold and green, and instead be inspired by a wonderful, white Christmas. Every year we hope for a magical white Christmas, but never quite get there. But we needn’t rely on the weather! We can use our interior design skills to bring a wonderful white Christmas right into our home.

Recreating a white Christmas at home, doesn’t mean tacky fake snow! We are looking at the suggestion of a crisp, white, fresh feel … without the chilly feeling and frozen fingers of real ice and snow!

It is your choice of colors that will give you the biggest impact in your choice of Christmas decorating ideas. For that fresh and funky feel, base your decorating color scheme around white, blue and silver.

This gives a wonderfully wintry feel, but sometimes does not quite convey a sufficient amount of Christmas cheer. You can achieve a more welcoming feel with this look by mixing other colors into this wintry base. Add in touches of turquoise, aqua and teal, and all shades of blue, deepest green and purple.
These jewel colors will bring out the richness of the scheme.
You can also really turn up the heat with a little pink, red or gold.

This color scheme really makes the most of the more unusual colored trees – especially white and silver Christmas trees, which can look totally stunning and sparkly. It works really well on a standard (or real) green tree, too, so don’t think that you have to chuck out all your old decorations, at all!

Of course, your Christmas tree will be the center of your White Christmas decorating efforts, but don’t forget the table too. On Christmas day itself, and, if you are lucky, through the whole of the festive season, the table becomes the center of attention. Make your Christmas table a little special this year.
Include your table in your white Christmas decorating ideas.

It is easy enough to use some of your Christmas decorations, plus some Winter foliage, or candles, to make a beautiful and tasteful, table centerpiece. It is really fun to get creative with this, and make your own. Just remember that sometimes, less is more …. So don’t go completely over the top! You want to leave some room for the food and the guests!

Always make sure that your guests at the table can see each other over your magnificent centerpiece … or you can arrange to remove it onto a side table, whilst the meal is being served. A few baubles, tastefully arranged, can create a very effective place setting for your guests.

Of course, remember to keep in with the same color scheme, and wintry theme, to bring all of your Christmas decorations together into a cohesive whole.

Switching from that tired, traditional feel this year, to something with a fresh, funky and modern feel, will really strike new life into your Christmas decorations and celebrations, and give you something just a little bit different for this festive season.

For photos and ideas of how to get the look, check out white Christmas decorating ideas on my
website: www.interior-design-it-yourself.com.

About the author:
Check out my website http://www.inte
rior-design-it-yourself.com, designed to show you how you can use professional interior design tricks and techniques, to bring that wow factor into your home.

The Nightmare Before Christmas Movie Download

Author: Neil Gerstein

Tim Burton's classic Christmas/Halloween movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas has quickly become one of the most renowned animated holiday films in movie history and now it has been remade in 3D animation making it even better. Though parts of this holiday movie classic seems a bit too graphic for some of the younger children, this film is a wonderful musical (music and lyrics by Danny Elfman) with a very good message for all of us. The entirety of The Nightmare Before Christmas was created with stop-motion animation, and in view of the fact that it's centered around the spooky Halloween holiday, it was given an overall dark tone. Jack Skellington (the Pumpkin King), the film's brooding protagonist, is a living skeleton who walks, talks, and sings beautifully (Danny Elfman sings for Jack). Each and every Halloween, it's Jack's duty to organize the holiday of Halloween for the world, but this Halloween, Jack feels like there something missing in his life so instead of preparing for Halloween, Jack searches for a way to fill the emptiness in his life.

During his search of self discovery, Jack finds a strange doorway in a tree which leads him to a wondrous place called Christmas town. It does not take very long for Jack to fall under the spell of goodwill shown by the cheery inhabitants of Christmas town. He soon becomes completely captivated with Christmas town and Christmas. After Jack learns about the legend of Santa Claus, he decides to tell all of his friends in Halloween town about the wonders he has just witnessed. Although the townspeople in Halloween town are hoping to make the next Halloween even more frightening than the last, Jack convinces them to celebrate Christmas instead. With the aid of Lock, Shock and Barrel, three trick-or-treaters who are more tricksters than treaters, Jack kidnaps Santa Claus. From there, everything begins to go completely wrong.

The Nightmare Before Christmas transforms into a fascinating story about being happy with one's self, and while the chief message is good, there are elements to Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas that might be a bit too scary for the younger kids. Some of the movie's characters, like Sally and her "master" for instance, have a very dark, almost macabre look to them and can be very frightening to some younger children. In addition to her gruesome appearance, Sally, who is the main female character of The Nightmare Before Christmas is sometimes abused by her "master ", which can be a bit upsetting to some children. There is one scene in particular that can upset some children. It's the scene where the Oogie Boogie Man kidnaps and attempts to do away with Santa Claus. I'm a firm believer in watching questionable movies with smaller children so you can help them tell the difference between good and bad, fantasy and reality.

With that said, there is nothing in The Nightmare Before Christmas that is too far over the top. I found The Nightmare Before Christmas to be a fantastic film that is loaded with holiday spirit, beautiful music and eye-catching graphics. The best is yet to come now that it has been released on BlueRay DVD in 3D animation. Every time I gait the city parks, or call the country trait, I gape the leaves that I oppose bringing back memories of ecstatic ranking climbing, pergola camping in the forest, long walks with my people, climbing with contacts or just relaxing underneath a ranking's brushwood enjoying the breeze. Although my yard was never big enough, I managed to as a kid to encourage my parents to yard leaves inside its boundary and whenever I hint their stalk I get excited shrewd that they would not have been there if I did not insist on depositing them.

Trees are large, permanent, timbered plants, which resume emergent until they die. They grow just about everywhere on Earth, from extremist cold regions near the Arctic and the Antarctic to hot tropical regions around the equator and even in deserts and the most diverse populations of grass are found in the tropical mizzle forests. In comparison to other plant forms, plants are considered long-lived. As perpetual plants, they are classified as having a clear, self-supporting core stem, or stem, containing a forested tissue that produces lesser limbs and twigs. Their height and solitary foremost stem differentiate them from bushes, which are mostly shorter and have many stems.
With more than 20,000 types of leaves growing around the world, a few species can grow actually tall, like redwoods and eucalyptus the extent heights of more than 110 m. These are: broadleaf foliage, needleleaf foliage, palm and pandanus and lily plants, cycad leaves, hierarchy ferns, and ginkgo leaves. All the above groups have provided us with food, fibers, medicines, and many other substances helpful in every day life. If you are asked what outcome you can greet from leaves, covert is the one that quickest comes to thoughts. Since dated period, people have worn forest to make tooling and make buildings as well as for forms of art and expression. Most importantly, coppice has also been used as a trace of fuel.

Furthermore, trees in the world's forests or plantations give food and shelter for humans and wildlife. Trees afford us with fruits, nuts, roots and other tree parts which we use to feed ourselves. Tropical fruit trees are among the most standard and embrace avocados, grapefruits, mangoes, and oranges. Cooler, measured regions have fewer kinds of fruit trees, but create immense amounts of apples, cherries, and peaches. Almonds, pecans, walnuts, and macadamia nuts are a few simply recognized species of nut producing trees. The most important nut treed of cheerful regions is the coconut palm, which produces coconuts.
Trees also equip chocolate, coffee, maple syrup, and such spices as cinnamon.

Finally, trees also have a character in conservation. Along lakes and rivers tree roots keep soil, property top soil in place, and water, land water in the ground. Where they grow in open country, they act as windbreaks and keep the encircle from blowing away earth, therefore aiding in stopping desertification.

About the author:
Visit the Hibiscus
Care website to learn about pruning hibiscus and growing hibiscus.

Jesse Tree and Advent Bridge Path From Past to the Future

Author: Elizabeth Guide

The Jesse Tree is the perfect complement to Advent. Its is a great way to recall history of Jesus and his family as well as applying it to the four weeks of advent that are highlighted with the four advent candles on the advent wreath. The Old Testament prophet Isaiah said that the messiah will spring from the roots of Jesse, with the famous Jesse being David’s father.
For the Jews, David was the last king of Israel and will be until the Messiah comes. For Christians, Jesus came from Jesse and is a direct descendent of David. Advent is the period where Christians recall the Christ Child being born and look forward to the second coming of our Lord.

Advents readings are assembled to remind us of the prophecies of the Old Testament with St. Paul reminding us of the reference to how Jesus was rooted in Jesse, or Christianity is rooted in Judaism. Advent is the perfect period of reminding us of our roots in the Jewish faith and how the Old Testament prophets foretold of all of this.

Because of the biblical references to the roots of Jesse, it was a logical leap to having a Jesse Tree that will match the readings of Advent that recall the family history of Jesus. In art thought out the Middle Ages the Jesse trees depict the linage of Jesus, with one of the earliest tree images appearing in the stained glass window of Chartres Cathedral dating back to 1150 A.D.

There are several different ways to produce a Jesse Tree and utilize it in Advent in conjunction with the advent wreath or as a defacto advent calendar. One of the oldest representations of the Jesse tree had ornaments that represent all 28 generations that Matthew listed as the opening of the Gospel of Matthew. The list starts with Jesse and Ends with Jesus. In its rawest form the genealogy and family tree of Jesus.

The Germans who are credited with the earliest Advent Calendars also were some of the early users of a Jesse tree. As we do now, hanging ornaments on our Christmas trees, the Germans opted to add scrolls representing the prophets and an image of Mary holding the Christ-child.

This practice has evolved into what many churches and homes do in lieu of the use of a Christmas tree. The Jesse Tree and Advent have been linked and each day there are new ornaments added to the tree that recall parts of Salvation history summarized though old testament stories. Also presents are the representations of the covenants’ that God made with the Jews.
This paves the way to the new covenant that Catholics celebrate at mass in the Eucharist. The Old Testament covenants were made with Adam, Moses, Noah, Abraham, and Joseph. In each case God fulfilled the promises he made in his people.

Advent helps us remember this period in our history as a people.
Advent wreaths, Advent Candles and the Jesse Tree itself are perfect ways to look forward to the coming of the Messiah by remember the past.

About the author:
Beth carries many Advent Wreath including many Je
sse Tree Advent Wreath.

Christmas Gag Gifts for Kids

Author: Curt Vasquez

Christmas gag gifts are great gifts for any categories of occasions. Another great Christmas gag gifts that you can give to your family are the redneck flick knives, which can merely complete even by children.

The items used to make these presents are glue, wooden spring kind of garments pin, rubber bands and wide popsicle sticks Another creative Christmas gag gifts that you can give are the maxie pad slippers. If you are presenting these gifts to discrete girl, it should be soft and hygienic, with non-slip grip on the soles, with built-in deodorant features, keeps the feet smelling fresh, don't bend over to mop up the spills, biodegradable and disposable to be environmentally safe. An all-natural bubble bath set is also best as Christmas gag gifts.

To make this, you may use either a baby food jar or a average baggie that is filled in with some dried beans and labeled with some instructions for the preparation. You may note in the jar or baggie the beans can be eaten an hour before the bathe.

About the author:
Curt Vasquez writes regularly about other related topics. For children, the anticipation of getting that special unobtainable gift brings the passage of time to a halt (Like: Cartman’s, of South Park fame, quest for the Wii.) For those of us who have to figure out what the spectacular gift is and have to pay for it that’s another story. “Time is aflyin”!!! Christmas day will be here in no time flat.

If you’ve got a motorcycle enthusiast in the family maybe you could use a few tips for some open road cycle gear to find that memorable gift for your beloved biker.

Motorcy
cle Helmets:
If you really want that special motorcyclist to see another Holiday season maybe you should look at your biker's old safety equipment. Manufacturers recommend that Helmets 5-years old or that have had some impact should be replaced. There is a phenomenal selection of motorcycle helmets that meet DOT-approved standards. Motorcycle Helmet styles ranging from full face for maximum protection against elements and impact, to the popular and preferred half helmet style of cruiser riders, and now there are DOT-approved novelty styles like the popular WWII German helmet. Shop at the right place and they won’t burst the Christmas Club budget.

Take a look at their riding apparel. If it has fallen to disrepair or just has seen better days here are a few items that would be a welcomed gift.

Leather Jackets:
Leather is most preferred by motorcyclist for its looks, durability and protective properties. Leather Jacket styles abound to just about anybodies tastes but a few features you should look for are adjustable venting, removable lining, and adjustable collar, waist and cuffs. These motorcycle jacket features optimize comfort in most weather conditions and comfort goes a long way for safety. Shop at the right online vendor and you’ll get a motorcycle jacket with both quality and value.

Leather Chaps and Pants:
Chaps are not for everybody but a welcomed addition when riding in cooler weather conditions and are mostly worn by cruiser style motorcycle riders. Leather chaps make a great gift and come in several styles and colors to match other apparel preferences and fit well into tight budgets too.

Motorcycl
e boots:
Motorcycle Boots are another safety must. I see many riders wearing low cut canvas sports shoes, definitely a no-no. For safety sake motorcycle boots should have at least a 6” ankle cover and oil resistant soles for a positive grip on the road. Quality, stylish and comfortable motorcycle boot pricing can get out of hand but this online site has the value solution for motorcycle boots.

L
eather Gloves:
Leather Motorcycle Gloves come in several styles. The primary riding season is obviously the summer season but protection is still a requirement. Missiles of varying types impact the motorcyclist almost continually.
Fingerless Motorcycle Gloves have padded palms to relieve grip pressure on long rides in addition to protection. Motorcyclists are a hardy bunch and enjoy riding in harsh conditions that dictate a fully protective insulated motorcycle glove. Either style of motorcycle glove can be purchased at stocking stuffer prices.

No matter what type of motorcycle gear you buy as a gift for the biker in your life, you can't go wrong with any of these motorcycle gear suggestions to ensure another year of joyful safe motorcycle riding. Many people deal with this by getting a job lot of gift vouchers but I tend to think that is rather unimaginative and dull. This year why not find something a bit different for your friends that they will be able to use and enjoy and also that gives them that extra bit of sparkle which is always important at this time of year.

In this article I will concentrate on some ideas for gifts for the women in your life. This year in the shops there are some really splendid accessories that as well as being great to finish off a look also make great Christmas presents.

There are beaded purses which are colourful and exotic – not only do they make a great addition to that special outfit but with their shimmering colours they are reminiscent of an Aladdin’s cave of jewels. Some are even like peacock fathers, the designs so opulent and reminiscent of Art Nouveau that they are something any self respecting woman wants to possess. They make a brilliant present for ladies of any age but especially for younger women who need a small purse to take out with them and appreciate something a little special.

In fact there are a range of different purses to choose from this year. There are embroidered bags that are amazing too. Used when you are wearing a plain outfit they will really get you noticed.

Another great gift for a female relative regardless if age is jewellery. Look through some of the high street clothes and accessory shops and you will find a whole host of different items to suit a range of people and a range of pockets. Chunky bangles with ribbons, are good for any age as are ethnic strands of beads which can dress up or down an outfit. There are also a fair few Murano glass pieces at the moment, those with their foil inserts give any outfit a touch of class.

Something that is also in the shops and is that little bit more special are beaded slippers – these are great with any outfit – making a bit of a statement but also providing comfortable yet glamorous footwear. Ideal for slipping into your bag to change into when you are going to a house party they negate the embarrassment of having to walk around in stockings or wearing muddy shoes.

And if all is lost and you really can’t find anything else a scarf is always a welcome present. By scarf I don’t necessarily mean woollen scarf – there are such a wide range of silk, embroidered and devore numbers that can be as glamorous or as basic as you like.

So there is no excuse for giving vouchers or money as gifts – get out into your local shops and start using your imagination.

About the author:
Fiona Muller is a trained textile designer and has written a textile thesaurus. I take exception to that. I hear that too, but absolutely everyone I know loves being caught up to date with their friends. And we all agreed we love to get cards.

One of the cleverest cards I have received told something about each family member and tied the story in with that person's favorite recipe. It was fun to learn about different family members in such a fun and clever way. And then when I tried the recipe it brought memories of them again.

Another non-tradition Christmas card is photos copied onto paper showing activities of the family throughout the year with captions telling of the experience related to the photo.

The traditional cards are precious too. I still decorate one door frame in our home with the ones we receive. The one year I decided not to put them up my family asked if we didn't get any cards that year.

Photo greeting cards with a photo of the family or the kids and the dog are fun to get and an easy way to send cards.

Here are some organizing tips to help reduce the stress of sending out Christmas cards:

1. Have all of your addresses in one place, either in an address book or on the computer. If you haven't heard from someone in two years, take them off your list.

2. Make a list of people you want to send cards to. Keep this list on the computer or print it off. You then have a template and only have to make a few corrections next year instead of starting from scratch.

3. If you didn't buy Christmas cards last year when they went on sale no worries, many stores run pre-Christmas sales before Thanksgiving on cards.

4. Schedule a time to write your Christmas letter or card. To reduce pressure and stress do this before December.

5. Have a target date when you will send out your cards. Mark this in your planner or on your calendar.

6. Delegate the addressing of the envelopes to a family member.
This could be a job you pay a child to do; one who is capable of doing this and wants to earn money for Christmas spending.

7. Buy your Christmas stamps early, definitely before Thanksgiving to avoid the rush at the post office. I buy my stamps on line at usps.com. It costs $1.00 for postage no matter how many items I order and I have them in 2 to 3 days delivered to my door.

Christmas cards are fun to receive, so to continue to receive them from friends and family, make sure you put your return address on all of the envelopes. When you receive cards check their return address and if you need to update your list tear it off the envelope and have one specific place you put the new address. In January when things are less hectic make changes in your address book.

Marilyn is a professional organizer who works with women and seniors in clearing clutter and providing organizing tips.
Clearing clutter helps those she works with to have less stress in their lives and feel more joy in living.

Marilyn invites you to visit her website http://www.marilynbohn.com where you can find organizing solutions. That was until last week when I ran across this year's must have Christmas gift.

You're probably thinking "So out of all the millions of gift ideas out there what makes theirs a must have?" Well, just close your eyes for a moment and think of the most special day of your life. Is it the day your child was born? The day you became a wife or husband? Or maybe it was the day of your very first kiss, which lead to a lifetime of pure bliss with the one you love? Now imagine that you could freeze frame that day forever.
This is exactly what My Day Registry offers . . . the preservation not of a material thing but of a memory.

It has been described by many as the best thing since the creation of the star purchase program. Offering title and ownership rights to any calendar day, the company not only provides its customers with a product but also with a family heirloom and a tradition that will surely be passed down generation after generation.

While My Day Registry is just spreading its wings – there is no doubt that it is this year's must have Christmas gift. Imagine the possibilities . . . to preserve a day especially for your grandmother, for a friend who lost a battle with cancer or for your child who makes every day special in your eyes . . . it is truly a magical thing.

The best part is that only one person can have ownership of a specific date. We find that this makes for an even more unique and personalized experience than even the star registry sites.
While there are billions of stars in the sky – there can only be
365 dates sold per state, country or worldwide registry.
Depending on your budget, you can make this gift a must have for anyone this Christmas.

So if you are in the market for this year's must have Christmas gift and you think you have seen it all – think again. Do some research, take a look around and choose to think outside the box. You just might be surprised at what is out there.

About the author:
The Author is owner of My Day Registry. To learn more visit the company's website at http://www.MyDayRegistry.com . . . you'll be glad you did.

All About Christmas Cards--7 Organizing Tips

Author: Marilyn Bohn

Last week at my rug hooking group we were chatting about Organizing ideas for Christmas and about our favorite memories and organizing ideas surrounding Christmas cards.

One woman said she likes to write a little family history even though she knows no one likes getting them. It is very interesting. With this new ad management feature we don't have to copy the changing code and paste it into our entire web pages. Because, when we change it within the ads setup page, just wait about ten minutes, then viola...! It never was between you and them anyway. Doesn't matter if the outcome isn't as expected or as wanted, because Allah will see, judge and reward inshaallah. We do things for other people...for the sake of Allah. We help, give, love, care, share, forgive, etc for the sake of Allah. Our intentions should always be for His sake and pleasure.
